Summer Internships
Get Real-World Experience with Summer Internships
In addition to undergraduate and graduate scholarships, JAMP students receive stipends for summer internships at two medical schools following the second and third academic years.
Curriculum for the Summer I Programs
The Summer I program intership offers a standard curriculum that supports MCAT preparation with course work focused on critical thinking mastery.
In addition to the MCAT preparation, a course in Anatomy and Physiology is provided, and all first year students have the opportunity to experience a Preceptorship. The Preceptorship provides Summer I participants the opportunity to have hands-on training that is supervised by a health care professional.
In addition to the standard curriculum, each of the programs will have different events and classes that will be required.
Curriculum for the Summer II Programs
The Summer II program internship will offer a standard curriculum that supports the completion of the medical school application and provide interview skills to prepare the student for his or her medical school interviews. In addition, a course in Biochemistry is provided to support the students' preparation for medical school.
Students that have met his or her MCAT requirement will have the opportunity to experience a Preceptorship. Any students that are approved to retake the MCAT will attend a mandatory MCAT exam tutoring program in lieu of a Preceptorship.
In addition to the standard curriculum, each of the programs will have different events and classes that will be required.
